Girl Focuses on Results & Doesn't Make Any of Her Resolutions | by Jay Shetty

We’ve all been guilty of setting a goal based on a specific result. Run five miles everyday. Cut carbs completely out of our diets. Get a promotion at work.

As the days go by, we start to get discouraged.

Instead of measuring the progress we’re making or the positive change that’s occurring, we measure how far away we are from the result we want.

The distance may be short, but as we compare where we are to where we want to be, the distance is amplified until it seems BIG. We start feeling like a failure, and eventually we give up and throw our goals away.

What if there was a better way to set goals that didn’t rely on a specific result?

Watch this video to learn how setting progress-based intentions is a healthier, more sustainable way to set and achieve goals.

The term build it and it will come is false… BE IT and it will come! My name is Wil aka Hollywood Wil and I have been down, confused, depressed, lost, and didn’t know which way was up. Believe it or not watching Jay and other motivational speakers helped me a great deal. If you are not comfortable enough to talk just start watching videos until you are comfortable enough to talk to someone.

I hope you enjoy not only the videos but my entire Vlog 🙂

  1. Perspective and mindset are everything! ♥️ Negative mindsets can be truly toxic and subconsciously keep us from having any true growth in our lives. Sometimes they are so ingrained that we do not even aware they are there. I just made a video about this topic 😊 With self-awareness, we can learn to change our mental habits and truly lead the life we desire and deserve. Happy new year, beautiful souls!

  2. You see, words have a lot of impact. And i am a stern believer of what you say because that is like actually proclaiming or professing about your life. But words should also be accompanied by actions,Pushing on is the key because the one question that should bother you and you should fear is "Wharlt if i hadnt given up?

  3. Don't focus on the end goal. Focus on the task in front of you. You can't climb the 7th step without climbing the 1st.

And set shorter timelines for your goals. An yearly resolution is tough to track and keep up with. That's why most of them fail. Set daily, weekly or monthly resolutions instead 🙏

  4. I love you! Thank you so much ❤️. It is very hard with this society, sometimes I give in to the pressure of everyone's definition of success, happiness even thought I know its not even something aligning with my life

  5. The meaning of resolution is "a firm decision to do or not to do something." The key words are "firm decision". If you make a firm decision about something then you must also take action and set a deadline, in other words, set a goal!

  6. Why do New Years Resolutions fail? Mainly, because they are only a statement, or what we wish for in the coming year. There are usually no action plans, no deadlines, no backup plans. Sometimes they are unrealistic resolutions, with no other thought or plans beside the statement.

  7. You never failed to inspire us with ur words of wisdom. Glad to see a video with ur face again, an animation videos I really missed to get something exciting msg. Your facial expressions makes me curious to know the msg, wt ur gonna be saying nd happening next in the video. I hope may u continue to do like this forever👍 Thank you Jay for everything u do through the yrs🙏 Hpy 2020!❤🎉

  8. Jay is ♥️♥️

I kinda did this thing unintentionally last year. For 18 years, i have set resolutions like lose 10 kgs and stuff like that. But last year, i just wanted to get healthier. I have hit a gym, and even though i may not make a 2hour work out everyday, i do do it threee to four times a week and am really enjoying myself.

    Thanks jay😊😊

  9. I completely disagree. I have never judge myself. I come from a humble beginning and I was taught not to judge others. I was instilled to be happy with the little I had growing up.

  10. Great jay , there is one stupid thing in which some people believe that life is a game of numbers . But this is a huge pain giving belief which makes life miserable . Instead life is a matter of quality which has nothing to do with this stupid success and failure trap.

  11. "It's called new year's resolution not days or weeks, everything you want takes time" just wow Jay, as a person that takes the self blame to another level this will be my to go video… Thanks
