The 7 Biggest Keto Mistakes (Avoid these Pitfalls)



The ketogenic way of eating is a very powerful way of eating that can reverse chronic disease and move you towards your ideal body weight. But, when you first start, it can be a little confusing. Best to learn the 7 biggest keto mistakes from me, than to commit them yourself.

By doing keto correctly you can return your body to the good health it was intended to have. Sadly, there are many different opinions of what you should and should not do. I want you to have success and happiness on your health journey and so I made this video for you. Please apply its principles, and share it with a friend because so many people are confused.

If you are not making the progress you expected with keto it is quite likely you are making one or more of the mistakes I discuss in this video. Better than to learn now so you can keep your progress going. When people see your progress and ask, “What are you doing?” you will be able to tell them the proper path to take.

  1. I have been eating Keto for a year this month. I have stopped losing weight 😢I think I am bored with this WOE. I still have 40 more pounds to lose. I Intermittent fast 16-8 since I have Hashimoto’s. My antibodies are off the chart….greater than 1000. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  2. Been on Keto for 3 months. Lost 33 lbs. Although I wasn't really overweight before, I am now ripped. The unlimited energy has helped in every part of my life. Did blood work the day before I started. Did blood work 3 months after. Every measurement has improved. Keto has changed my life!

    Could you do a video on kidneys, uric acid and excess protein consumption and negative side effects of it (ex: bubbly urine) and how to fix it? Would be good to get ur take on it. I am sure it would benefit alot of people to recognize this issue and how to fix it if you become CKD stage 1 thru 3.

  4. I'm having a really bad week. Last week stuck in the house with sub- zero temps. (Minnesota) This week TWO snow storms. Stuck again. Stressed, eating everything in sight. I KNOW what to do, but falling off the wagon. ☹😭😢

  5. Good evening doctor! I very much appreciate your videos, before I watch this one I have a question.. is there any chance for a Skype consultation .. I need help . I started keto November 28 and slowly (low mobility because MS ) i lost about 12-15 pounds up until now. I do IF and fast once a week 24 hours as well. I am strict and don’t eat or drink crap. 3 days ago I made a mistake by drinking freshly squeezed lemon in the morning on an empty stomach thinking i am catching a cold . I feel nauseated since then, but no pain or talking intestine .. I feel anxious and at the same time Exhausted … I am taking magnesium, raw multivitamins, omega 3 fish oil , cbd and rso oil as well as electrolytes and probiotic . 10 years ago according to a doctor i was dx with ibs as well. I am only 33 and need to get my life back! I am not extremely over weight but 5’7” 190 pounds.. No issues as far as I know with sugar, thyroid, cholesterol and bp lvl. The other day my pulse tho was 120 with no apparent reason. I wonder what I am doing wrong because as well i am struggling to loose any weight the past 2 weeks. Please if possible to get in touch with you, doctors in Michigan have no idea about keto.

  8. Thank you for this video. I started 3 weeks ago. I am and always have been a grazer. I realize I am doing that with Keto.
    Can I be successful if I do 3 meals a day always or do I have to get to a point where I do the 12 to 20 hours intermittent fasting to be successful? I still have nausea by 12noon if I don’t eat breakfast…l want this to work! Help!

    2. Not enough salt
    3. Snacking
    4. Comparing your results to others
    5. Calorie counting and restricting portion sizes, aka "dieting" and stressing
    6. Trusting food labels (they hide carbs under different names)
    7. Going Keto solo. Get support!!

  11. I think I am a compulsive eater, no matter how long I've been on keto or how much I've eaten, or if I'm satisfied, I can't stop eating and snacking. It demands high will power and I find myself failing constantly! It's frustrating… 🙁

  12. my endocrinologist just recently told me to stop worrying about carbohydrates because all my blood sugar comes from the calories that I eat. I am not joking. She also diagnosed me as a juvenile type 1 diabetic even though I am an old fat guy. I am firing that doctor.

  13. A question for all those out there….." has anyone come across inflammation under their skin after eating 'monk fruit'?".
    I was adding it to my icecream. Its now 8days without it and my facial skin is just starting to settle down. Its painful, unsightly and annoying. And there is no infection.
    …….sigh

  14. I’ve been doing keto for four months started good with lots of energy and lost 20 lbs and now I haven’t lost weight in a month and I’ve been feeling tired and I’m not sure what’s going on 😫

    I've lost 157 pounds and my wife Tiffany has lost 85. Plus our A1C's, blood pressure and cholesterol are now normal for the first time in years and we no longer have to take any diabetes meds. 🤩 🤩 🤩 We think KETO ROCKS..! 🤩 🤩 🤩

  16. Most think I’m crazy for keto and omad.meh ill keep the 8 pack i think! Lost weight 3 times doing i f and exercise with carbs(253 to 180)each time But quickly put it back on. 2 years in this time 145pounds and my clamp says I’m 4.5%body fat. Probably closer to 8%. Salt was my hardship but once i figured that out o m g! Wish others had the will to try it. Thanks Dr B!🤘🤗🤩

You sir have been the sole reason behind my transformation from being an obese teen to being a healthy fit person :') … cant thank you enough for that but um a bit confused regarding the fact that …Doesnt the ketogenic diet restrict carb amount to 20g or less? if so then how am i supposed to eat until satiated? 🙁
